Right Track Hip Hop Finale

Right Track Hip Hop Finale

The Right Track Hip Hop finale took place last Friday at the One Step Closer program in Armadale. This time PTA Transit Officer Lawrence Hoxey was joined by Transit Officer Jordan Keilar and the pair rap battled before Lawrence performed some of his latest tracks for the youth. It seemed everyone wanted to be involved - with One Step Closer staff rap battling it out themselves!

Right Track Hip Hop is back… with a twist!

Right Track Hip Hop is back… with a twist!

If you’re a regular follower of our blog then you may remember the Right Track Hip Hop events we ran as part of Community Safety Month towards the end of last year. The events were such a huge hit that we decided to bring them back for 2016! Transit Officer Lawrence Hoxey and his crew came down to the One Step Closer program in Armadale on Friday nights throughout April to deliver those important rail safety messages using hip hop, rap and different musical instruments. The youth got involved with rap battles and built a rapport with Lawrence which helps to break down those barriers between young people and Transit Officers out there on the network.

They were joined by Indigenous Artist Jade Dolman who focused on traditional art and PTA employee and Urban Artist Amer El-Abed who ran workshops with the youth using stencils to create art on Right Track branded t-shirts.
